Born in the urban Tehran in 1982, Negar Kayhanfar started her career as a businesswoman. Having earned a degree in hotel management from Strathclyde University, she got involved in professional painting and presented several successful exhibitions. She strongly believes that in the extremely tight world of competition you’d only gets one chance to present yourself, so should you be able to capture your audience’s attention properly the first time around, you’d be able to continue on that path by keep working hard at it. After visiting Premier Vision exhibition in Paris she founded "NK" in autumn of 2009. After the 1st collection was presented in November of 2009 comprising mostly of winter-coats and outer wares, which was surprisingly well received among her fans, she was most certain that fashion design was what she’s going to do for the rest of her life. NK's main focus has always been & still is: simple silhouettes with complicated cuts and details combined with the best raw materials and immaculate craftsmanship leads to beautiful and long lasting pieces. “The insides of clothes are just as important as their outsides,” she says. They’re also a big fan of practicality and comfort for women and believe that clothes are more than just pretty objects and that they can tremendously boost one’s self confidence and esteem. Her profound love and aspiration for starting something up and making it successful has also turned her into a very successful business counselor who loves and enjoys helping other young people trying to establish their own businesses. NK’s plan is to participate in some global exhibitions to gain international recognition among other major designers and to introduce its byproducts through reputable retail channels throughout the world.
