Parmis Hakimi (b. 1989) is a visual artist from Tehran. Her paintings conflate and extend historical painting techniques, chiaroscuro and a gestural handling of paint indebted to Abstract Expressionism. She seeks to expose a delicate equilibrium between a sense of visual calm and the tumult of painterly texture and surface tension. She is inspired by images she has in her mind from the past. She is experienced in printing, video making, photography and painting.
