Persian House V - Hoz-e-Mahi - Nowruz or Mezzeh Plates

I live in Minnesota which is known for its long winters, and since 2015, I have been making Nowruz 7seen dishes as a way of bringing the warmth of the holiday spirit home. My Nowruz dishes are inspired by traditional Iranian architecture of homes, gardens and palaces, and most of them have a little built-in fishpond (hoz-e-mahi) included in the design. In addition to the Nowruz table setting, these dishes can be used for Passover seder or enjoyed year-round for cocktail parties.

This work can be stored vertically to create a decorative the scene of a home or garden with the pond in front, or both can be used together as dishes to set the Nowruz table.

- Doorway plate is approx. 11” x 7” x 2” (27 x 17 x 5 cm)
- Fishpond plate is approx. 6 3/4” x 6 3/4” x 1/2” (15 x 15 x 1 cm)
- Low-fired terracotta earthenware clay & hand brushed colorants under a clear glaze
