I am the founder and Editor of REORIENT, an online publication celebrating contemporary Middle Eastern arts and culture. I have also contributed to a host of other high-profile publications, such as Columbia University’s Columbia Journal (whose Guest Editor I served as in 2016), Forbes, The New York Times, The Guardian, the BBC, The Economist, i-D/Vice, Another Man, Aesthetica, Artsy, Frieze, ArtAsiaPacific, Christie’s, Encyclopaedia Iranica, Harper’s Bazaar Art Arabia, and The Cairo Review of Global Affairs, been interviewed by news outlets like Newsweek (which referred to me as a ‘leading figure in the art world’ in 2016), PRI, The Art Newspaper, and the CBC, and seen my articles republished in a wide variety of languages. Although I’ve tackled a range of subjects, my writing often has Iranian culture at its core, and abounds with references to rock and roll and popular culture. In 2015, I was granted an International Award for Art Criticism (IAAC) by London’s Royal College of Art. Other prestigious cultural institutions, such as the V&A Museum, the Aga Khan Museum, the Courtauld Institute, LACMA, and Art Dubai, have also recognised and made mention of me, as have fashion brands like as Pull & Bear and technology firms including Apple and Microsoft. I am also the author of a translation of Omar Khayyam’s Robaiyat, a novella (Coming Down Again), a volume of poetry (Lovers of Light), and a collection of stories and essays (With My Head in the Clouds and Stars in My Eyes). In addition, my writing can be found in such books as Mahdi Ehsaei’s Afro-Iran, Sarah Maple’s Not My Cup of Tea, Uncommon Dubai, and Ali Mobasser’s Stamps of a Revolution.

Thank you.
