Made in Canada
Saddened by my partner in crime/twin sister's move to the U.S. I felt like I needed to make myself busy with something that would help me deal with the pain. Designing and making jewelry helped me get used to her not being around. Studying graphic design and being a veteran in this field for so long, I felt like I needed to move on from digital media and make a spiritual connection with my designs. I started experiencing other art-forms such as photography, singing and illustrating childrens' books, but none made me satisfied. Inspired by all forms of art I experienced from designing to singing and poetry, I began designing jewelry. The base of my designs are influenced by Persian art such as miniature painting, Persian poems, Persian calligraphy, the Gol o Morgh motifs and any pattern that is rooted in Persian literature and culture. Overall, I admire an interesting combination of tradition and modernism. I work with gold, silver, and semi precious stones making my jewelry. I was born in Tehran in 1980.
