Set Of Two Gold-plated Cyrus The Great 2550 Anniversary Collectible Coins With Easel And Floating Display

These limited-issue collectible commemorative coins are created in celebration of the 2550th anniversary of the Achaemenid Empire founded by Cyrus the Great.  The lifetime total number of the 2 coin sets will be limited to 550 sets; 2 coins and 550 set symbolizes the 2550th anniversary.  These bronze coins are designed in color with 3D casted images and texts with a polished gold finish.  They are meant to celebrate Persian history, heritage, and honor one of the most recognized figures in human history, Cyrus the Great.  The coins’ dimensions are 44mm by 2.9mm.  This is roughly 3.5 times the size of a quarter and twice the thickness. 

 The overall design of these coins is done by Mehrdad Badie.  The coins incorporate inscriptions in the Old Persian language, images of Cyrus the Great, the Achaemenid soldiers and the Lotus flower from stone-reliefs in Takht Jamshid.  The images of the Cyrus and the Achaemenid soldiers were re-created by two very talented Iranian artists.  The real credit for the images used goes to the artists who created these wonderful stone-reliefs over twenty-five hundred years ago.

The image of Cyrus the Great is the four-winged guardian figure representing Cyrus the Great, a bas-relief found at Pasargadae on top of which was once inscribed in three languages the sentence "I am Cyrus the king, an Achaemenian.

 In the Old Persian script, the symbol of Ahuramazda, the words Parsa and Kurus, and the phrase “Kurus (Kourosh) the Great of Parsa are embossed on the coins.  The coins also capture translated excerpts of inscriptions from the Cyrus Cylinder (Manshoor) in English.
