In 2013, after years of working as an Architect, Visual Artist and Artisan Chocolatier, I decided to go back to university, only this time to pursue a career in Ceramics and Tile Design. I have been making these handmade tiles and ceramics since then. The designs are highly inspired from my Persian background and mostly include traditional ancient symbols and motives. At times these motives are mixed with more modern elements creating a new perspective on an ancient culture. From the beginning stages of splitting the clay, to applying each motif onto it, firing in the kiln, individually formulating the glazing and its application, and the final re-firing, each piece is completely unique and tells a different story. I truly hope that each of these pieces manages to bring the passion behind the making of them to the final home they will be placed in.
